History & Vision

In November of 1996, Emmanuel Faith Church of Escondido, CA planted Faith Community Church by the Sea on the Coast of San Diego County with the mission of “Reaching the Coast for Christ.”

Following six years of meeting at The Del Mar Hilton, we moved to a new worship location at Ada Harris Elementary School in Cardiff by the Sea.

Six years after that we moved to the Encinitas Community Center where we stayed for 5 years. While there, God enabled us to purchase 3.5 acres of land in south Carlsbad.

We transitioned to meeting at the nearby Boys & Girls Club Bressi Ranch Clubhouse while developing the land in the Rancho Carillo area of Carlsbad.

In February of 2015, we opened our doors and began holding services at our first permanent location: 2700 Rancho Pancho, Carlsbad.

It is our belief that God will continue to bring together a broad coalition of men and women, who are committed to God and His Word to support this new work.

We anticipate that God will use passionate people who want to live out lives of devotion to help continue to grow a strong evangelical church that will reach people for Jesus Christ in North San Diego County.

We believe God will use our mental, spiritual, financial, physical, and emotional energies to create a place where people can come to be spiritually healed and tangibly helped through the love and grace of God.

We believe the surrounding community is ready for an evangelical church that is devoted to understanding and meeting felt needs in the name of Christ.

With the non-denominational identity of our church, the average age of our church being close in age to the surrounding community, and our desire to reach out to people with the love and truths of Jesus Christ, we feel we are well suited to minister to this area.

We recognize the importance of living our lives out of devotion rather than in reaction to life’s demands or from obligation to someone’s request. Based on Jesus’ life, teachings, and the biblical pattern, we teach our members to understand the three primary devotions to which God calls His people: Devotion to God, Devotion to God’s people, and Devotion to our World.

We encourage our members to consider which of these three areas of our church life and ministry they feel most passionate about. They are then invited to meet and work with our Elder leadership, contributing their ideas, energies, and abilities to the growth of that ministry area. We are committed to living our lives of devotion and invite you to join us.
