Faith Community Church by the Sea

Coming to Christ as a young person, I have vivid memories of growing in Christ and
deepening my relationship with him throughout my high school years. I remember being
highly encouraged and motivated by adult leaders in my youth group who modeled a
Christ-like life that I so desperately wanted to imitate. This desire to be more like
my Savior prompted me to commit more and more of my life to serving Him. After
graduating from high school, I decided to volunteer in the ministry that had so
greatly influenced me, in hopes of somehow influence others.
Since then, I have worked consistently in youth ministry as a volunteer as well as
a staff member. After graduating high school I went on to receive my B.A. degree in
Communication from SDSU. I was then offered the position of Youth Pastor at my home
church in El Cajon. Shortly afterward I began dating a beautiful and godly woman named
Jenny who became my partner in ministry and in life. She is a gift from God that reminds
me every day how truly blessed I am. With her encouragement I enrolled in Southern
California Seminary and began working toward my Master of Divinity degree.
Feeling the need and desire to pursue other ministry opportunities, I began looking
for a solid Bible believing and preaching church that had a heart for the lost and was
in need of a Youth Pastor. After coming across Faith Community Church by the Sea-I had
found just that!
With family members and other loved ones who are not saved, my heart breaks for anyone
who has not repented and placed their trust in Jesus Christ as Savior. Knowing
statistically that most decisions for Christ are made in the child, teenage, and early
young adult years, I am highly devoted to reaching and discipling the youth culture
for Christ. However, I consider it a divine privilege to share the gospel with anyone
of any age and background.
Although I'm well past the age of the average student at FCC, I still feel like one
big kid. I get giddy at the very thought of Christmas, I love Spaghetti-Os and Kraft
Macaroni and Cheese, and I enjoy making "interesting" food combinations and deeming
them "delicious" (feel free to ask me about this sometime!). More than that, I remember
what it was like to go through the day-to-day trials and temptations of a young person
living in this secular world and I am motivated to encourage students to grow in their
devotion to God, God's people, and the world.
I look forward to continuing to partner with parents, adults, and students to see God
move greatly in the student ministry at FCC as well as beyond the church walls into a
world that is in desperate need of Jesus Christ.
