Fall Family Fellowship

Fall is here and we hope you will be too–for our Fall Family Fellowship on Sunday, October 29.

We’ll kick things off during our 10:30am Family Worship Service in the sanctuary where we invite kids, youth, and adults alike to come together for a unified time of praise, prayer, and the preaching of God’s Word.

Childcare will be available for ages 3 and under, but kids 4 and up are invited into the service for a special Kids Korner teaching time. They will also be given a special activity packet to work on during the service.

Afterward we’ll serve a potluck lunch. A chicken entrée will be provided, but we’d ask that you bring a dish to share!

Use the chart below to determine what kind of item to bring.

If your last name begins with the letter…

A-G: Bring a hot side dish (beans, mac ‘n cheese, etc.)

H-M: Bring a salad (green, pasta, potato, etc.)

N-S: Bring fruit or bread

T-Z: Bring a dessert

Following the potluck lunch, there will be a variety of activities for the whole family to enjoy, including a bounce house, field games, a pie eating contest, succulent/pumpkin craft stations, and face-paintings! We will also have some prizes to raffle off, including: Legoland tickets, Boomers passes, two games at Bowlero, an Amazon Echo, and more!

Raffle tickets are won by participating in various activities/games and by bringing personal hygiene or non-perishable food items to our Donation Drive bin in the lobby.

Operation Christmas Child 2017

How to Pack & Deliver Your Shoebox Gifts!

Find a Shoebox

Start with an average-size cardboard or plastic shoebox. If you want to wrap it, cover the box and lid separately. Or pick-up a box at church.

Girl or Boy?

Decide whether you will pack a box for a girl or a boy, and the age category.

Can’t decide? Feel free to build multiple shoebox gifts! The more the merrier!

Fill with Gifts

Select a quality “wow” toy such as a doll, soccer ball with pump, or stuffed animal.

Then add other fun toys, hygiene items, and school supplies. See gift “DOs and DON’Ts” here.

Pray

Most importantly, pray for the child who will receive your Operation Christmas Child shoebox gift. You can also include a personal note and photo.

$9 Tracking Labels

Donate $9 online and receive a tracking label to Follow Your Box and discover the destination of your shoebox gift.

Alternatively, you can use the labels from the printed brochure and send a check or cash in the envelope (provided in the brochure).

Drop-Off

Take your shoebox gift(s) to Faith Community Church on Sunday, Nov. 12 or 19 (between 9:30am-12:30pm) or during normal weekday operating hours by Nov. 16.

“If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it. And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?”
-Matthew 16:25-26

Risen: Good Friday Movie Event

Join us on Good Friday, April 14 at 6:45pm for this free movie event.

Risen is the epic Biblical story of the Resurrection, as told through the eyes of a non-believer. Clavius (Joseph Fiennes), a powerful Roman military tribune, and his aide, Lucius (Tom Felton), are tasked with solving the mystery of what happened to Jesus in the weeks following the crucifixion, in order to disprove the rumors of a risen Messiah and prevent an uprising in Jerusalem.

We will serve communion afterward for those who would like to partake.

Come grab a seat in our auditorium at 6:45pm–the movie will begin promptly at 7:00pm. Risen is rated PG-13 and children under 13 years of age must be accompanied by a parent. Family discussion guides will be available to take home with you free of charge.

There will not be childcare available for this event.

Parent Night: Parenting On Purpose in an Online World

Without a doubt, technology has proven itself to be something the average American family could not live without.

Although there are many benefits to living in an online world, there are also some potential pitfalls.

If you would like some practical tips to help curb your kids’ screen time, protect your children from the abundance of sexual content online, and keep your kids safe from bullies and predators who victimize through social media–this Parent Night is for you!

Join us on Wednesday, March 29 from 6:30-8:30pm.

Parent Nights exist to provide parents (of children birth-12th grade) of Faith Community Church and our local community with ongoing tangible resources from a biblical worldview that will encourage and enable them to better train and guide their children toward maturity in their relationship with God and others.

Our Lead Pastor, Pastor of Discipleship, Director of Student Ministries and Children’s Ministry Director will be guiding a discussion on ways in which technology impacts the family and providing you the opportunity to be purposeful with your children as they engage with screens and live in an increasingly “online world.”

This one-night session is free to attend.

Middle & High School students (6th-12th grade) are welcome to join Refuge (our Student Ministry) running at the same time.

Complimentary childcare is available for kids (birth – 5th grade). Be sure to register by March 22 if you plan to bring kids.

By registering, you are automatically entered into our raffle to win a number of valuable parenting resources. You must be present to win.*

One winner will receive a brand new Circle with Disney!
