Missions Ministry

Director:  Sonja Luce

We wish to promote missionary participation by urging church members to give/to pray/to go, serving at home or abroad, as their spiritual gifts and resources permit. We also desire increasing involvement of our members in local opportunities for cross-cultural evangelism to members of people groups who are not indigenous to the United States.

Prayer Partners of Kashungs and Ministry

This is Peter Kashung. Right now, I want to thank you for Praying for our family and ministries. Regarding family, Soso accepted the reality of the death of her husband Sony prince. She remains strong in the Lord and taking care of three kids. As Parents, we feel sad that she become widow in her 28th year. But as parents we are out of control. We accepted God's control.

Soso is continuing the Ministry of Asgaraya. She has a great responsibility to look after 23 female kids who were rescued from female infanticism. If you are interested see her website called : www.redeemingindia.org This website will give you a clear pictures of the ministry that she is looking after. Pray that the Lord will continue to take care of her, her ministry and children as well.

Secondly, my 13 years of sickness has been improved a lot. God has been faithful. Thanks to everyone who has been praying for me. Literally I started using walking stick for three years. But praise to God that God has removed WALKING STICK and I walk no more with walking stick. My wife Moala Kashung has taken over many of my responsibilities- like financial administration, personnel management and many others. God has given me a wife with all capability to help me in the ministry. I want to thank God always for that.

Thirdly, We also praise God that my son Chuichui got a job as Associate Engineer in one of the outsourcing British Company in Chennai. Pray that Chui will be faithful both to the Lord and the company that he works.

Fourthly, My daughter Chonchon has been doing very well in her study at Liberty University . Her desire is to come and help my ministry in multi-media communication. Both my wife and I had been struggling financially to help her. But due to many individuals who have been helping partially made her two years stay in USA a possible. Continue to pray for her study there for two more years. We totally depend on God's provision.

My youngest Son Brian finish his matriculation from Chennai. He passed in first Division. I want to thank God that all my children could make to pass in First Division. Brian needs to be with Soso for two more years in Kodai so that Danny the two years boy of Soso will have someone a male figure. Pray for his preparation to be with Soso and her kids in Kodai. After two years of study, he want to go for Theological study in US and come and help me in the ministry.

Pray for us so that our ministry and family will continue to glorify God.

Dear Praying Friends-

I am so excited about this weekend and our once-a-year student conference here in the Sunland. You may remember that this year is our first year at the University of Hawai'i. We have some great guys (who just finished college themselves) out there trusting God, meeting students, and sharing the Gospel.

I am so proud of these guys. I admire their courage and faith. They are examples of the outstanding staff God has blessed us with.

Recently, one of them sent out a great update that I thought I'd share with you. Please pray with him (and with me!).

From:Timothy Lin

Aloha!

Hope you all are well! I'd love to share what God is doing here in Hawaii:

Elsie - Kevin led his friend Elsie to Christ a couple weeks ago! Kevin called me one night and asked what would be good way to explain to Elsie that being a Christian was all or nothing. She was hesitant because she feared what her parents would think - she comes from a traditional Asian background. I told him that it would be better for her to not make a decision, than to do so half-heartedly. Well, the next day she went for it and is now following Jesus! Please pray for her in these strategic days.

Frear Hall - Mike and I got dinner with Eric, a freshmen we met last semester, and he brought along his two friends - Devin and Bernard. After dinner, they invited us up to their dorm in Frear Hall - a dorm we've asked you all to be praying for. Both these guys are sophomores from Haliewa, a town on Oahu's north shore. Last Tuesday we had a BBQ outside some of the dorms, and all three of these guys showed up! This was surprising because Eric was pretty flaky last semester, and we had just met the other two. Pray for these men; they don't know the Lord, and we'd love to continue to share Christ's love with them.

Regional Conference - This weekend we will be taking five of our students to our Regional Conference in Pine Valley, CA. We will be joining 9 other campuses - over 300 students, from California and Arizona. God blessed us with a special gift, so we are able to cover airfare for all our students this weekend - pretty amazing! I can't tell you how important this conference was for me as a student. Relationships will be founded and strengthened this weekend, and the Spirit will be working on the hearts of hundreds of students. It was two years ago at this conference that one of our speakers shared Matthew 9:37-38, and I realized that there will always be a shortage of laborers, but plenty of work. And this is why I decided to labor in Hawaii - the harvest is plentiful!

Pray for our students going this weekend:
Kevin - that he would know what it means to really know Jesus and seek Him daily; that he would know how to honor the Lord with his post-college plans.
Vehia - that he would be challenged to move towards the lost - really live among them; and make friends this weekend who will encourage him for a lifetime.
Cianna - that she would gain a heart for discipleship - to be discipled, and to invest her life in others; and also gain a heart for missions.
Danica - that she would really know what it means to be a follower of Christ; that the Spirit would be calling her to give everything to Him.
Randy - that he would gain a greater understanding of fellowship, and the body can encourage each other as we seek the Lord.

For Jesus' Fame,

   - Tim
