Find a Shoebox

Start with an average-size cardboard or plastic shoebox. If you want to wrap it, cover the box and lid separately. Or pick-up a box at church.

Girl or Boy?

Decide whether you will pack a box for a girl or a boy, and the age category.

Can’t decide? Feel free to build multiple shoebox gifts! The more the merrier!

Fill with Gifts

Select a quality “wow” toy such as a doll, soccer ball with pump, or stuffed animal.

Then add other fun toys, hygiene items, and school supplies. See gift “DOs and DON’Ts” here.

Pray

Most importantly, pray for the child who will receive your Operation Christmas Child shoebox gift. You can also include a personal note and photo.

$9 Tracking Labels

Donate $9 online and receive a tracking label to Follow Your Box and discover the destination of your shoebox gift.

Alternatively, you can use the labels from the printed brochure and send a check or cash in the envelope (provided in the brochure)1

Drop-Off

Take your shoebox gift(s) to Faith Community Church on Sunday, Nov. 11 or 18 (between 9:30am-12:30pm) or during normal weekday operating hours by Nov. 16.

Risen: Good Friday Movie Event

Join us on Good Friday, April 14 at 6:45pm for this free movie event.

Risen is the epic Biblical story of the Resurrection, as told through the eyes of a non-believer. Clavius (Joseph Fiennes), a powerful Roman military tribune, and his aide, Lucius (Tom Felton), are tasked with solving the mystery of what happened to Jesus in the weeks following the crucifixion, in order to disprove the rumors of a risen Messiah and prevent an uprising in Jerusalem.

We will serve communion afterward for those who would like to partake.

Come grab a seat in our auditorium at 6:45pm–the movie will begin promptly at 7:00pm. Risen is rated PG-13 and children under 13 years of age must be accompanied by a parent. Family discussion guides will be available to take home with you free of charge.

There will not be childcare available for this event.

Bon Voyage Beach Bonfire

As summer comes to a close and families are gearing up for a new school year, we couldn’t think of a better way to make sad news less sad than by soaking up the beach with friends and family of all ages for one last summer event.

bon fireWe’ll be gathering at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas on Friday, August 23 for food, music, and fun (look for us near a fire pit!). Everyone is welcome, so please invite others. You don’t have to be a part of Faith Community Church to join us–in fact, we love meeting new people!

While the “official” time frame is 5:00pm – 9:00pm, we’ll be hanging out at the beach all day, so join us anytime.

We will provide s’mores and beverages in the evening, but please plan to bring your own meals. The Moonlight Beach Snack Bar is typically open until dusk. Wendy’s, Subway, and Little Caesars (Hot ‘N Ready pizzas) are other nearby spots to grab something on your way to Moonlight.

Bring your favorite beach activity equipment to enjoy with others (boogie boards, frisbees, footballs, etc.)
