Find a Shoebox

Start with an average-size cardboard or plastic shoebox. If you want to wrap it, cover the box and lid separately. Or pick-up a box at church.

Girl or Boy?

Decide whether you will pack a box for a girl or a boy, and the age category.

Can’t decide? Feel free to build multiple shoebox gifts! The more the merrier!

Fill with Gifts

Select a quality “wow” toy such as a doll, soccer ball with pump, or stuffed animal.

Then add other fun toys, hygiene items, and school supplies. See gift “DOs and DON’Ts” here.

Pray

Most importantly, pray for the child who will receive your Operation Christmas Child shoebox gift. You can also include a personal note and photo.

$9 Tracking Labels

Donate $9 online and receive a tracking label to Follow Your Box and discover the destination of your shoebox gift.

Alternatively, you can use the labels from the printed brochure and send a check or cash in the envelope (provided in the brochure)1

Drop-Off

Take your shoebox gift(s) to Faith Community Church on Sunday, Nov. 11 or 18 (between 9:30am-12:30pm) or during normal weekday operating hours by Nov. 16.

Good Friday Service

Good Friday is a time we come together at Faith Community Church to remember and reflect on the suffering and crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

His death on the cross–while a somber and dark day in our world’s history–was the necessary precursor to the miracle of Resurrection Sunday (Easter).

Join us at 6:30pm on Friday, March 30 for a family worship service* that blends gospel narrative, contemplative music, and self-reflection.

Remember to finish the story on Easter Sunday during one of our Celebration Services (8:30am | 10:30am).

*Nursery & kids classrooms available for children 4 years old & younger.

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” -Matthew 11:28-30

Risen: Good Friday Movie Event

Join us on Good Friday, April 14 at 6:45pm for this free movie event.

Risen is the epic Biblical story of the Resurrection, as told through the eyes of a non-believer. Clavius (Joseph Fiennes), a powerful Roman military tribune, and his aide, Lucius (Tom Felton), are tasked with solving the mystery of what happened to Jesus in the weeks following the crucifixion, in order to disprove the rumors of a risen Messiah and prevent an uprising in Jerusalem.

We will serve communion afterward for those who would like to partake.

Come grab a seat in our auditorium at 6:45pm–the movie will begin promptly at 7:00pm. Risen is rated PG-13 and children under 13 years of age must be accompanied by a parent. Family discussion guides will be available to take home with you free of charge.

There will not be childcare available for this event.

During each Easter Service Dr. Doug Baker will be giving an encouraging message called, Rise & Shine.

“‘Rise and shine!’ is a phrase heard throughout life, often when we least want to hear it. Yet, when God says it to us, it takes on a completely new and exciting meaning. It looks forward to life change that is empowered not by our own energy levels or interests but by God’s capacity and desires.

“At Easter Jesus rose from the dead, but the meaning of that moment is not merely rooted in history. It is an event that revolutionizes our lives as well. As we trust in Him, we are enabled to move out of the shadows and darkness of past harmful habits and present puzzlement into the light of clean slates, fresh hopes, and clear consciences and conceptions of life. Join us this Easter as we ‘Rise and Shine’ together.”

Church Picnic (4/28)

You’ve probably noticed that spring is in full swing!

Having some good ol’ outdoor family fun is a great way to get to know each other better while enjoying delicious food and warmer weather in the process.

Our annual church picnic (Sunday, April 28) is open to everyone of all ages. Make a day of it by joining us at our church Worship Service (10:15am) at the Encinitas Community Center before heading over to Stagecoach Park for lunch and activities for the whole family (12:15-3:00pm).

Stagecoach Park is located at 3420 Camino de los Coches in Carlsbad.

There will be a number of benches to sit on, but we encourage you to bring the lawn chair of your choice to relax in.

Kids will love our FREE Bounce House and face-paintings.

Teens and adults can enjoy a friendly game of Ultimate Frisbee and other sports.

The main dish for lunch will be provided by us.

If you are currently a part of Faith Community, we ask you bring a side-dish or dessert to share (sign-up at church or use the contact form below to tell us what you are bringing).

If you are guests, lunch is on us–just plan to bring your appetite.

While it is not necessary to RSVP, we would really love to know if you plan to come (so we can plan to have enough food). Use the form below to give us a heads up that you are coming or to request more information. We’d love to hear from you!
